A survey yielded interesting revelations. One man headed home to find his wife under the covers and heard a rustling sound coming from under the bed. It turned out to be his wife’s secret girlfriend. Others found dirty plates, guitars and mouldy Chinese takeaways.

One woman feared a gas leak only to discover that the stench came from a pair of her husband’s sweaty football socks which were festering under the bed for two years. Another man helping his mother-in-law move her bed ran into her collection of kinky adult toys.

Over a third of those polled said they only swept under the bed once a year. Take a look under your bed. If there is a rustling sound, don’t bother looking!
